Synopsis

We Were Only Foolin'; One of the New Mutants' friends at Salem Center high school receives a note indicating that some of his classmates know that he is a mutant and will call X-Factor; he commits suicide; Shadowcat gives an impassioned speech about prejudice at his memorial. This story takes place during the days when X-Factor is believed to be a group of mutant hunters (X-Factor #1-#25).
